Tummy Time

This week we have been practicing "tummy time" with Noelle.  As now we are told to have babies sleep on their back they need time on the tummies to strengthen neck and other muscles.  She's doing really well.  We're not sure if she likes it or hates it right now.  We think she likes it, at least for a bit.  After a few minutes she starts crying and wants to get off of her tummy.

Per the video below you can see what we mean.  She does this high pitch scream that she only  does while on her tummy.  It's so high pitch some it's almost out of the range of human hearing.  I'm sure this video is only entertaining to us and grand-folk, but I'll upload it anyway.

I probably shouldn't encourage her to make the scream noises but I wanted to get it on video.     If she practices the scream too much I'm sure it would end up being her favorite noise to make in the middle of church or something.

Hello From Afar

Hi family and friends!  We are alive and well after our nearly 800 mile journey to our new abode in Arizona.  We only had one flat tire (discovered by Larry when we stopped at a gas station) despite a few blowouts.  Ok ok, the blowouts were from Noelle.  Luckily I had thought to bring a good amount of clothes for her so we were good.

Noelle did wonderfully on our 14-ish hour drive (I really lost count after 10), she slept most of the way.  We were going to get a book on CD to listen to during our drive to help pass the time but we ran out of time and ended up listening to a mix CD Corey made for me over and over.  We had other CDs in the car, but I suspect Corey didn't care to listen to them (we were in my car).

HUGE thanks to Karen and Larry for braving the drive to help us move.  We couldn't have done it without you!  Next time we stop at Denny's Wigwam lets share a plate.  That was the most pulled pork I had ever seen on one plate.

A week later we are nearly done unpacking, just odds and ends and the office to unpack.  It's now feeling like home to us which is great.  We now are connected to the world via the internet.  It took a few days and some investigating by Corey to get connected.  We found out that the problem was we were plugging into a phone line that wasn't hooked to anything.  That would do it.

We are adjusting to the climate.  We're told we moved during the coolest week since spring.  Temperatures have been comparable to Salt Lake, but it feels much more humid here.  In a week or two we'll be back to 100+ dry weather I believe, and we'll be adjusting once more.

We've briefly visited the U of A campus but plan to spend more time there this week or next before school starts. It's so far the prettiest place in all of Tuscon (the rest of Tuscon is mostly brown).  It's pretty lush with green grass and palm trees.
